Thesis support Moroxite F’s product concept

Updated: Feb 25

Dr. Vetra Markevičiūtė has on the 23rd of August’24 successfully defended her thesis on how calcium sulphate/hydroxyapatite (CaS/HA) augmentation and bisphosphonate improves screw anchorage in fragile bone. Dr. Markevičiūtė’s findings strengthen the validity of Moroxite F’s FARE product development for the augmentation and anchorage of fixation screws in relation to fractures to the hip in osteoporotic patients.

Osteoporosis affects over 200 million people worldwide and by 2050 that number is estimated to at least have doubled.

Prof. Šarūnas Tarasevičius: ‘Dr. Markevičiūtė has shown that CaS/HA augmentation combined with systemic bisphosphonate could be superior to present techniques for augmenting osteoporotic trochanteric fractures, potentially preventing reoperations. This is an important insight and step for the advancement of common practice in the field.’

The Moroxite F congratulate Dr. Markevičiūtė on her achievement.
